We're coming off the most gorgeous weekend in Charleston, reminding me why autumn is a favorite time of year in the Lowcountry. I also love the mental reset associated with back-to-school and new fall rhythms. It happens every May. The summer illusion sets in, and I foolishly believe I'll be able to slow down and savor the season while using the longer days to catch up on every facet of my life. making self-care A PRIORITY

For the longest time, I was a self-care skeptic. Apart from the occasional trip to the salon, I didn't think I needed it. Self-care seemed like an indulgence for those who could afford to splurge on massages, facials, and afternoon naps.
