feels like fall: little things to elevate the season

We're coming off the most gorgeous weekend in Charleston, reminding me why autumn is a favorite time of year in the Lowcountry. I also love the mental reset associated with back-to-school and new fall rhythms. I'm finding myself in the kitchen more these days, trying out new recipes and cooking up old family favorites (like the pumpkin chili below). Marvelous Myrtle

When I mentioned my plans to write about myrtle topiary for this post my husband quipped, "you mean how to kill them?" It's true that I've cycled through a few topiary over the years. As mentioned in a previous post, we were delighted to attend Illumination Charleston and have the opportunity to tour the historic Aiken-Rhett House last weekend. In addition to the gorgeous Christmas florals and greenery that adorned the mansion, the house featured modern furniture arrangements and inspirational vignettes by top Southeast designers.
