Of all the five senses, scent has the strongest link to memory and can conjure up feelings of nostalgia. To this day, the musky-sweet smell of fallen leaves takes me back to childhood autumns when crisp, fall days were meant for jumping in leaf piles and taking walks in the nearby woods.
In addition to bringing back fond memories, fragrance is one of those little pleasures that enhances my mood. Wearing a beautiful perfume seems to elevate even the most mundane tasks and routines. Likewise, fragrances for the home create an atmosphere that I find particularly nurturing this time of year.
With the days growing shorter and our Charleston temperatures finally dropping below 80 degrees, Farrah and I have been switching out our lighter, floral perfumes and candles for moodier versions. Below are some of our favorites!
