I’m back with another “five little things” post to share some of the small stuff that’s been making me smile lately. Inspiration for this summery post struck at our recent book club meeting. In addition to selecting a book to read and discuss, we’ve taken to occasionally swapping our favorite things centered around a theme. It’s so much fun to discover the unexpected items that your friends are passionate about! I walked away from our little “summer favorites” exchange with the absolute best strapless bra to wear with my sundresses (thanks, Kaina!), and I’m including it below. A joy-inducing bra, you say? That’s right! See my complete summer round-up below.
- Boat Days – Taking the boat out to explore one of Charleston’s many waterways has become a favorite weekend activity for our family. Spotting dolphins and various coastal birds at play in the sea grass never gets old, and somehow being on the water makes me feel like one of the kids again.
2. Aloha Bag – Speaking of boat days, this lightweight, splash-proof bag has become a favorite for stashing summer essentials. My thoughtful friend Jeana gifted me this pretty, reversible tote, and it quickly replaced my purse! This pattern is sold-out, but there are so many more fun prints to choose from.
3. Literally the Perfect Sunscreen – A few years ago, I developed an allergy to traditional sunscreen and it’s been a challenge to find one that absorbs evenly without irritating my skin. This tinted mineral version by M-61 is lightweight and provides subtle coverage. I’m loving it for (you guessed it) boat days!
4. Farmer’s Market Flowers – I enjoy having fresh flowers around the house any time of year, but especially during the spring and summer months. My daughter and I picked this happy bouquet ourselves at one of our local farms. Every time I see it on the kitchen island, it reminds me of the south of France and that long-ago summer I spent as an exchange student in Provence.
5. Gatherall Strapless Bra – And, here’s that strapless bra I’ve been talking about. My summer wardrobe pretty much consists of sundresses and more sundresses. I’ve tried so many strapless undergarments, but THIS is the one I’ve been searching for! It’s comfortable, secure and washable. (And, I think it might be 20% off right now!)
So there you have it. Bras, boat days and bags…these are a few of my favorite things. I hope your summer is a good one, and I’d love to hear what’s bringing you joy this season!
